Existing particle and vapor filter technology is extremely mature. IntraMicron's competitors use technology that dates back to the early 20th century, which is a combination of a paper-based HEPA particulate filter with a packed-bed carbon sorbent. Only marginal improvements have been made over time, and they have netted few improvements in filtration performance.
None of IntraMicron's competitors have demonstrated the ability to construct or deliver a regenerative filtration design. As a result, clients within our target market are faced with limited performance envelopes, rigid design specifications, and requirements to dispose used filters as hazardous waste. This means that product cycle costs for traditional filter designs are significant.
IntraMicron, however, has a unique and significant competitive advantage over current industrial competitors by virtue of its patented, proprietary technology and the resulting performance characteristics of its microfibrous media.
The following chart compares existing filter technology with IntraMicron's microfibrous media. |
