IntraMicron, Inc.
was formed in June 2001 to commercialize the microfibrous materials
technology developed by Dr. Bruce Tatarchuk at Auburn University.
Microfibrous materials technology is an enabling technology that
allows chemical reactions and processes to occur far more efficiently
than previously imagined or commercially practiced. IntraMicron
has an exclusive, worldwide right and license to practice all available
fields of use for this technology.
The products incorporating IntraMicron’s patented technology
are manufactured via high-speed, roll-to-roll papermaking and sintering
processes. These “microfibrous media” products possess
uniquely adaptable physical properties and performance characteristics
that form the basis for products that have broad applications across
a wide range of markets. Potential market applications for IntraMicron’s
media include:
Air
security and air quality;
Biogrowth
accelerators;
Reusable
filters;
Fuels,
chemicals, and electric power;
High
performance batteries; and
Thermal
control materials.
The first market IntraMicron is pursuing is Air Security. The company
manufactures unique, microfibrous air assurance systems that protect
individuals and structures. IntraMicron is one of only two U.S.-owned,
vertically integrated manufacturers of metal fiber based sorbent
and filtration media. |
