IntraMicron, Inc. was formed in 2001 to commercialize the microfibrous materials technology developed by CEO Dr. Bruce Tatarchuk at Auburn University. Microfibrous materials enable chemical reactions and processes to occur far more efficiently than previously imagined or commercially practiced. IntraMicron is one of only two U.S.-owned, vertically integrated manufacturers of metal fiber based sorbent and filtration media.
The products incorporating IntraMicron's patented technology are manufactured via high-speed, roll-to-roll papermaking and sintering processes. These "microfibrous media" products possess uniquely adaptable physical properties and performance characteristics that form the basis for products that have broad applications across a wide range of markets. Potential market applications for IntraMicron's media include:
Air
security and air quality;
Biogrowth
accelerators;
Environmental impact reduction;
Composite development and material enhancement;
Reusable
filters;
Green building development;
Fuels,
chemicals, and electric power;
High
performance batteries;
Energy efficiency; and
Thermal
control materials.
The knowledge base that has been developed and strengthened during the growth of the business has resulted in a unique niche for IntraMicron. The research expertise of the company surpasses the development and usage of microfibrous materials and serves as the foundation for the expansion of related research ideas into uncharted and underserved market areas. |
